Traditional Metal Embossing by Mag Muldoon with Tessler Stamps / Stencil Co.

In this class you'll learn three basic techniques of  traditional metal embossing.
In the process we'll use stencils, rubber stamps, plastic molds and free hand patterns.
You'll learn how to achieve dimension, textures and backgrounds with different tools and metals.

Materials supplied by instructor: Basic kit, paper stamp, suede, one brass stencil and 4 needle tools.

Student to bring: Cutting board, sharp scissors, metal sheet (students may purchase from instructor)

Variations on a Theme

So you buy some stamps, you use them a few times, the way you planned,
the way you were shown or taught. Now What?
This is a class of endless possibilities. We will create an assortment of designs:
from ATC to postcard format, a foldover card and envelope. Using the color duster brushes and stamp pads
we will color both backgrounds and stamped designs. Using Stampland's templates we will create depth and shading.
Respositionable tapes will provide masks, color blocking, frames and mosaics.
We will combine a group of stamps with easy techniques to create many "variations on a theme".

Assembling Assemblage

Do you have lots of great ideas for board books and shrines, but don't know how to do the basic assemblage?
If so, this class is for you! Lean to easily construct beautiful board books using a variety of techniques
and materials. Then expand these techniques to create ATC displays and simple shrines. You'll go home with a several
assembled books/shrines all ready for your final personal items.  This class is geared toward
assemblage, not necessarily to create a finished object, but you may want to focus on one project.
If so, you can bring stamps, collage ephemera, figures, and any other personal items.

Zia's Foiled Fantasy

Create TWO - 12" x 18" fragmented foiled pieces of art using Stamp Zia's unique images and techniques.
We will combine Joss Papers, foiled lines and geometric shapes with metallic paints and markers,
specialty papers and stamps to complete these fantastic, shimmering, stamped collages!
